Tourist Travel Requirements for a Madagascar Visa for Canadian Citizens

  1. Visa May Not Be Required

    Visa exempt for a stay of up to 15 days. The traveller must:

    • Pay a 10-Euro fee on arrival
    • Hold a passport valid at least six months on entry with one blank visa page
    • Hold proof of sufficient funds 
    • Hold proof of onward/return airline tickets
    • Hold all documents required for the next destination
    • Confirm with their airline that boarding will be permitted without a visa as these conditions are subject to change
    If you will be staying longer than 15 days, then please refer to the requirements below.

  2. Passport

    You must provide your actual signed passport, including one copy of the personal information page of your passport. Your passport must:

    • Be valid for six months beyond your intended exit date
    • Have at least one blank visa page. Amendments and endorsement pages cannot be used to fulfill this requirement
    • Not be frayed, torn, separating, or altered in any other way

  3. Photographs

    You must provide two colour, passport type photographs that meet the following criteria:

    • Be taken within the last three months and printed on high quality photo paper
    • Be taken against an all white background free of shadows
    • Be 51 mm by 51 mm in size
    • Provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression
    • You may wear neither glasses nor headwear except for religious purposes
    • Your photos should not be affixed to your application and they may not display evidence of adhesive or staples

  4. Visa Application Form

    You must provide one completed visa application form. The application form must:

    • Include answers for all fields. If something does not apply, enter "N/A"
    • Display your full name as it appears in your passport
    • Be signed

  5. Proof of Travel Arrangements

    You must provide proof of travel arrangements for the duration of your trip.  Details of your intended arrangements must:

    • Include a copy of an e-ticket

  6. CIBTvisas Order Form

    You must provide one completed CIBTvisas Order Form. The form must:

    • Include a valid email address and payment information
    • Include your signature in blue or black ink

  7. Vaccination Certificate

    You must provide evidence of vaccination against Yellow Fever, if you have travelled to an infected area within the past six months.

  9. Visa On Arrival

    It may be possible to obtain your visa upon arrival under limited circumstances. Visa requirements and travel restrictions vary greatly when obtaining an on arrival visa. In addition, local immigration officials also hold the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason.

  5. Visa Application Form
